That "big secret" wasn't a hoax, internet world! Mike Reader, a longtime friend and host of
The Mikelive Experience! had been planning a visit to Ohio to be a guest on
Edge Radio.. live and in-studio! The surprise? I came along! This operation had to be a complete secret because we wanted to surprise Viz, host of
Edge Radio with Viz and Ms. Annie and station manager for Q Nation FM.
I departed in the early afternoon on the 13th from Fresno and arrived in Columbus later that night. After that long flight, I was ready for some serious sleep. First, though, I had to muster up all the remaining energy in me to give Mike the BIGGEST hug I could! Meeting Mike for the first time was a huge highlight for me considering we've known each other for almost a decade and he has been such an inspiration to me. This was all thanks to him.. an amazing guy and a true friend.
On to the deetz about the studio visit!
After getting all pretty for my big surprise studio visit, we packed all of the equipment in the car and headed to Cleveland. I was nervous the entire way there. Viz and Annie are two of my biggest role models and I really wanted to impress them. We had always had good chemistry over the phone, but what about in person? Would Viz still want to bone me after seeing me "in real life?" Would Ms. Annie's tits be as big as they are on the studio cam? These questions flooded through my mind the entire trip.
Now, this visit was a surprise for Viz. He had NO idea I was coming. The only people who knew were Mark (Viz's partner), Ms. Annie (
Edge Radio co-host) and some of the regular listeners. When we pulled up to the location Mike and Bobby got out and brought everything inside. I was instructed to stay inside the car and wait for Mark to come get me. About ten minutes later Mark knocked on the car door and I hopped out.
It was my first time meeting Mark and I was nervous.. you know, considering I flirt with his boyfriend every week on the radio.. oh, and also because his boyfriend has two pairs of my underwear sitting on his desk. Not awkward at all, right? Mark was so sweet, though, and very accommodating. We listened in the waiting room and got ready for the second segment to start. That's when we headed downstairs and waited outside of the studio door for my cue.
Mike was successfully able to get Viz excited, saying that I would be calling into the program.. but after the commercial break he informed Viz that I would NOT be calling in and that I was on a date. This pissed Viz off.. which meant everything was going according to plan! Viz went off, and that was my cue! I flung open the studio door and confronted him. His face was priceless.
So many hugs! So many laughs! So much wine! The show was GREAT. Despite the rush to get me my equipment during the commercial break, everything went smoothly. The chemistry was spot on! We bounced off of each other so well. I will always remember the "Pulp Friction" segment which was, of course, radio GOLD! I can't wait to go back for another studio visit.
Mike, thank you for making this happen. Viz, Annie.. you two are the best! This show means so much to me, and even though I've been a part of it for a while now, it was nice to be involved in person. I hope we can do this all over again!
Pride was AMAZING this year! I had so much fun! I was able to meet a lot of great people and it was an amazing learning experience. You know, these events are very important for QNation.FM and so for all of you who stopped by the booth, thank you. We love the exposure, we love getting new listeners and fans for the station and all of its shows.
Big, big, exciting news! Next Wednesday, the 19th, at 10pm EST I'll be a guest on Edge Radio with Viz & Miss Annie -- that's right, I've upgraded from my goofy call-ins to official guest status! We'll be discussing my talk show (three more weeks!) among other scandalous topics, I'm sure.
